I can't comment on the 2500 but I have a Dodge Ram Quad Cab 1500 purchased new in 2005. I have 99,700 miles on it now and it's the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have basically just changed oil, new tires a couple of times and brakes. The 1-2 gear in the transmission is a little tall but I don't notice it much with the 3.92 rear-end. The Hemi engine is a little thirsty but mine pulls just as hard now as when new. The Hemi is a very durable engine. The Ford 6.2 engine is very good as well.
