I would not purchase a Ram 6.7 cummins that is not DEF equipped and make sure that it has all it's recalls performed.

BTW... I find it very interesting how some confuse the 5.9 and the 6.7.

The only non DEF issue was poor mileage, and several reflashes.

Well I only have 291,000 miles and still going strong.

Why did cummins install a shrader valve on the turbo to be able to inject a solvent? Again your confusing the 5.9 and the 6.7!

They just don't know vehicles to well IMO.

It doesn't matter what brand name is talked about, there's always someone with a different brand that consistently bashes the other brand.
I would say there's about 4-5 guys on here that do that a lot.
Some do it in jest, others just can let it go. Definitely the insecure thing.
Ironically I'd be willing to bet that those that bash all the time will never come on here and say they have an issue with their trucks. Very childish.
As to the OPs question. I would think that if Rams were all that bad then you wouldn't be reading about so many on here getting new ones. Doesn't mean they won't have a recall or something else happen. I know you can find problems with any of the new trucks.

I am starting to believe Ram owners can not read. OP never asked about a Ford at all but the normal Ram boys here jump in to bash them anyway. Seems if some one ask about a problem with your beloved Rams you try to divert to Ford. Are you really that insecure? Sorry, just had to ask. :B
OP, to try to answer your question, depending on year of trucks they both had problems but the Chevy never had a death wobble problem that I am aware of.

Let's get this straight, there is NO such thing as a Dodge truck any longer since they officially became RAM trucks in 2013.

The Cummins engine is a true Medium Duty engine and the Aisin is a true Medium duty trans. The Cummins has the VERY dependable CP3 fuel injection pump. The GM and Fords have the CP4 that is no where as dependable. Many reports of Ford telling it's customers to pound sand on warranty claims but GM has been standing behind the CP4 on the D Max.

My 2011 RAM had a windshield washer bottle and fuel heater recall along with a tie rod end, all handled without incident. My 2015 has a recall for some sort of security problem, they sent me a chip I can download or I can have the dealer handle it.

Just look on this site alone the VAST majority of new trucks are RAM's. ALL RAM trucks are SAE rated to do what RAM states unlike others who just make claims with nothing to back it up.

Find a 2006 and don't look back. Easily the most reliable diesel PU ever made. The magazine Turbo Diesel Register prints pages of issues for each generation of Dodge diesel truck. Most generations get three or four pages of issues. Usually small things. But the GEN 3 trucks don't usually get a full page. This is when Mercedes owned Chrysler and lots off attention was paid to the truck line.

But you'll pay big for a 2006 with reasonable mileage and in good shape. If you can even find one for sale!

I have nearly 200K miles on mine and only issue has been a water pump, AC compressor, Exhaust system (cat back) and a recall for front steering stuff. No other isues...Fuel, Oil, Brakes and tires
