I have an 07 Ram 2500. It was built in 06 and has the 5.9 CTD with the 48RE tranny. I am the original owner and have been towing a 10,500 lb Fiver since I bought it. It has also towed boats and many other things too numerous to mention. 150,000 on the odometer. I change the fluid every 45-50K,including a filter. That's it for the tranny. No issues. I'm leaving for a two month trip at the end of January, covering thousands of miles and 7 States. Not a worry, great truck. Whats that tell you?:B
