Dodge Ram Plastic Hood?

2010 was the first 4th gen. Dunno about those, but 2014 2500/3500 hoods on the trucks I had were steel. Magnets stuck to them.

You may have not seen the posts on the F150.

I know about the F150 and my guess is that in 3 years the other truck makers will come around to Aluminum too. The sad fact is that American steel companies just do not want to make the kind of steel that the car companies want at an affordable price...in fact some cant make it at all. So much of it has to come from overseas. This and weight savings are what is driving the move to aluminum.

Jeeps were made with Aluminum bodies...in the 1960's. just a few years..
and very few remain.

Not on all trucks. My 2014 5.7L 2500 4x4 was a steel hood.

But you are right many are aluminum. That hood is huge and it only makes sense to reduce the weight by using a lighter material.

Not true! The last DODGE trucks were built during the 2012 model year. 2013 RAM became official.

My 15 3500 hood is steel.
