Traveled from Md to Va and went camping for a week. While at the campground I climbed under the camper for something and found this bubble on my tire! There is no road hazard damage or marks by the bubble that caused this. I religiously check my tires before every camping trip and don't go over 60mph. (Except for the occasional 65/67mph coast down large straight hills) They have less than 5-6k miles on them. I'm so glad I saw it before it blew. A blow out could have destroyed my camper. Luckily I had the gear to change it and a 12V air pump to get the spare tire back to 50psi.The tire is a Power Touring Trail Express (load range C) Date code is 2011. 205 75 r14Since my camper is a small TT and has only one axle. I"m going to replace the two tires and keep an older tire as a spare for now. (little low on funds to get all 3).I am considering the Maxxis. Over 65 is too fast. Everytime you do it, you are damaging the tires. The damage is not visable, and is cumulative. At some point it will result in a failure..This is one reason why I am not a fan of ST tires. I don't think that ANY piece of equipment should be run close to it's max.

It's good that you caught that one...Hard to tell from the picture, but that tire sure looks like it has way too much wear for just 5k miles.??I think you will like the Maxxis 8008's. Ours (LR E) have been great.

This a good reason/reminder to constantly monitor your tires for wear and defects. Remember that this is a one axle setup, so a tire going down suddenly or blowing out would likely be catastrophic as opposed to a double axle setup.

Bottom line as others mentioned, replace both of your tires with some of the suggestions made here, and you should be ready to go.

Yeah those type of blisters were common year ago on low cost tires.
We always stuck a knife or ice pick in it and went on down the road. The tire would slowly leak air over a couple of weeks period. Then when we got tired of pumping the tire each week we would save some money for a used tire that would hold air.

I've had many many blowouts/shredded tires on my trailers when I was on the road hauling for a living. I never had any issues with a blown tire on a trailer causing a wreck. Now a tire that has blown out or gone flat on a RV trailer at highway speed and starts to sling steel tread belts can cause lots of damage especially on a RV.

This type of bubble on the sidewall is caused by failure of the tubeless liner and allowing high pressure from the inside to infiltrate the other layers of rubber in the sidewall. It is typically caused by an abrupt impact to the shoulder, i.e., hitting a curb, rock in the road, or anything that breaks the tubeless liner, and may or may not show anything on the outside of the tire.'
While it is not something you want to happen, typically it will not cause the tire to abruptly blow out. More a leak of air to the atmosphere when the bubble finally bursts.

I've had good success with Maxxis M8008 tires. Be sure to have your new tires balanced.

Thanks for the heads up Doc. Same tires (OEM) on our 2013 Jayco WhiteHawk. Was planning on replacing them late this year or next, simply because of the build date (2012). I probably have maybe half the accumulated road miles on them as you have on yours.

I replaced mine with Kuhmo 857 load range D and I am very happy with them. Tire Rack had them for a good price and quick delivery.

Yeah the pic is a little blurry for that part. The tires still have like new tread on them.
