- azrvingExplorerSometimes.
- 2012ColemanExplorer III'm pretty sure there is ONE person who does. The rest don't. Read your manual. If the slide needs to be supported, it will tell you in there. IMO, if you need supports to hold it up, it is not safe to use it.
- jaycocreekExplorer IIAs with anything in life, one shoe does not fit all.If I were to call the trailer manufacturer and ask if LT tires were needed, what do you think the reply would be?What about tire covers to protect the tires from the sun that were not provided my the manufacturer or on and on..
I have used them and have a pair and my reply is based on actual experience using them not agreeing with others who have not used them, to be political.
I just do not see how so many can chime in with negative opinions based on never having used the product in question. - SolidAxleDurangExplorer II

My TT has a slide where the kitchen table and couch slide out and I was wondering if I need to be using some type of stabilizer when it is in the out position. If so, which ones are the best without costing a fortune?
The correct answer is NO. They are not needed - for the reasons already cited here in this thread.
If you doubt the advice given, call your trailer's manufacturer and ask them their opinion. - jaycocreekExplorer III do sometimes but not always.Never had a problem with using them even when I had a flat tire with them in place. If used properly there is know problem in using them. The vast majority here have never used them and have know direct experience with them.
- valhalla360NavigatorAnother no. If the manufacturers required them, they would have included them.
As others have said, a flat tire and now the slide is supporting the trailer...which it's not designed to do. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIINO
Slides are self-supporting
IF supports where needed then mfg. would have supplied them in order to keep from having warranty issues from lack of supports
Just because a 'product' is sold via AFTERMARKET does NOT mean it is needed, required, and improvement or will provide any useful benefit
NO - hohenwald48ExplorerSome people do. I never would. There is no need and the problems already posted are the reasons I would recommend against it.
- old_guyExplorerno, was always told that if you put something under slide out, and you have a flat tire on that side it will ruin the slide out

If anyone does, they are just asking for a big problem. So...No, to your question.
Think about it, if a stabilizer (or jack) should fail or sink, what do you think is going to happen to the slide if the stabilizer under it doesn't sink?
The slide out are designed to carry a whole bunch of weight, probably much more than you could on it normally.
