Dometic cube Frig. Q/A

Model #2190 installed in 1993 Sunlite Pop-up. Worked great then trouble. Flame will not stay on. Possible bad thermocouple?? Will light and stay lit for a while then goes out. What do you think? The thermostat is set Ok but is hard to turn. I am afraid to force and break it. Discussion using the 12v option:I read all the search topics. My 2 cents. It is OK to use the 12v Frig option in lieu of gas for traveling down the road but should switch to gas when stationary, camping, etc. I have generally used gas traveling.
I have seen the results of a frig flame explosion when fueling up. Burned the class A to the wheels. May never happen but... Your input.

    Just a thought but have you cleaned around the pilot burner itself ?? Could be a dirty orifice or corrosion buildup

    Yes check the thermoc. lightly sand off any carbon at the tip \ as stated clean the tube and vent .
    Also, turn on the stove burner , then fire up the water heater. The flame on the stove should remain the same. If it doesn't, you have a pressure problem and is probably caused by the propane regulator being bad. Test the gas pressure . I think 11 is normal , double check on that number by someone with a little more knowledge than me.

    Looked over the thermocouple gas assembly. To remove the thermocouple it looks like the assembly ( thermostat, etc) must be disconnected in front of the gas shut off. Has anyone done that or is there a better way? Found some good tips on U-tube but nothing about removal.

    I had this exact problem. Mine frig worked great for two years, then the flame wouldn't stay lit.

    A local RV shop replaced the thermostat AND gave it a thorough cleaning.

    The technical manual shows the ANNUAL cleaning procedure. Possibly, yours could use a cleaning?

    I did the lower burner clean out myself. Despite having pretty good instructions, I couldn't figure out the flue/chimney cleaning and hired RV professionals to help. I'm glad I did. It cost $300, but now works great.
