DOMETIC FRIDGE SQUEAL/SQUEAK ?

I have a 2008 Fleetwood Mallard with a Dometic refrigerator/freezer....Just recently the fridge started to make a squeal noise once over 5 minutes or so...Its not getting louder or anything...I have it running on propane when it makes the squeal, i dont think it makes this noise while on 120...Any ideas guys/gals ?

Thanks in advance,

Michael

  • I've never seen a fan in the back of one of these units. It only does it on gas, I'm assuming that it is squealing while the gas valve is open and the flame is lit. You may try cleaning the gas valve
  • the fan for the frig is in the path of the exhaust air ,up high ,if you got a heat stack ? look down the pipe,

Cooling fans in outside compartment are located near the top.
Hard to see from lower vent opening.

So it could be a fan up high.

    Just one other suggestion.....
Is the power distribution panel/converter located below fridge.
Could it be the converter cooling fan squeaking?

I will have to figure this out this weekend, ive never looked for the converter but i am sure it is behind the breaker box with all the breakers/fuses. So there is a fan for the refrigerator ??

open the outside vent see if that helps find the noise? or a mouse got in there and wants out?? just kidding

Lol it sounds exactly like a mouse, but its definately not HAHA....I am not to worried about it as it has done it for awhile now, fridge and freezer work great....It would just be nice to eliminate that noise....I have taken the cover off on the outside of the trailer, almost sounds like its coming from the vent that goes out the roof maybe ?
  • Has anyone, by chance, installed an electric fan to circulate the air? If so it could be a bearing in the fan.

It could be your propane changeover valve.

Mine's a clicker. Have no idea.
