Thank you for the input. I did end up going with the 4 tripod jacks.
This camper is a "test camper" for us as I'm not sure how much my girlfriend is going to enjoy it. I lived in Tomsriver many years ago and would fish at Island Beach State Park and always thought it was super cool that people would pull onto the beach with their campers. I recently bought a new truck that is 4WD and more then capable of handling the weight so started shopping truck campers on the web. I quickly realized that these things range in price from 60K to "if you can drag it out you can have it"
With this being said my girlfriend has warmed up to camping and she wants to get a shore house when she finishes school so I thought I could kill two birds with one stone. We get to go camping and we now have a mobile shore house. ;) I wanted to start off with something that was water tight yet inexpensive which with a month of searching a 91 Sunline ended up being my choice. I wanted to go with the four corner jacks that mounted but with this being the "test camper" I didn't want to put jacks on it that were worth twice as much as what the camper was.
I'm pretty cautious and think we will be OK for the handful of times Ill be loading and unloading with these until we decide if this is what we want to do and get a newer one with the electric corner jacks. I was hoping someone would convince me that the three jack system would be fine but in reality I think too much risk lies within them for the fact that they look 40 years old and will be hovering the camper over a 40k truck that I haven't managed to scratch yet.
Being new to this I'm sure Ill be a regular on here picking your brain, I haven't even picked the camper up yet but hope to do so next week. I bought the torklift kits for mounting under the truck and waiting for them to come in along with a rubber mat. These two items cost more then the camper as well. I think by the time I get on the beach with it I'm going to have 4500 to 5k tied up in it. Crazy.
Thanks again for helping and a huge thanks to whom ever built the forum!
Kindest regards
Ed
