Double Alternators
Would most agree that on a Diesel, the option to have double alternators is a good idea if the option is available? Your thoughts please.

On my truck the engine alternator is the most powerful battery charger, by far. With a pair of 125A alternators, I routinely see over 150A charge, at idle, but only if I am running the microwave or the induction stove top and the batteries are discharged. The best that my 2800w Magnum can do is about 100A and my solar array can only manage about 30A in full sun. I do not have a generator; simply don't need one.
Look at my original post, you may be making this much too complicated. You can accomplish what you want with something on the order of 100mm2 of wire and an intelligent relay.
