We looked a a Casita (similar to a Scamp), but we felt claustrophobic. We recently bought an Aliner Ranger 15 (a hard-sided pop-up that can be put up in about 2 minutes - really!) with the cassette potty option and Cool Cat heat pump (11,500k a/c plus heat pump heater), and we love it! There's enough room for two (60x80 queen bed), plus the dinette makes into a roomy single bed when our granddaughter gets old enough to start coming with us! It fits into our garage, too. The Aliner Expedition is about the same size but has more standard options.
Aliner
I've had both a Scamp and an Aliner and while the Scamp is a well made unit, I did feel much too confined. The Aliner is more like a big tent on wheels without the fabric sides. The newer Aliners have optional dormers to provide more space and though the present dormers have fabric sides, Aliner is developing units with hard side dormers. I have not been able to see a hard side dormer unit yet but anticipate viewing one soon (I live less than 10 miles from the factory).
The Aliner will not have the interior space of a pop-up, but there are many other advantages especially with setup, traveling and no complicated lift mechanism.
