Downloading at Campground

Three times in 23 years.

That doesn't included when the clutch slave cylinder went out on our 2006 F350 and left us stranded at Shinning Rocks Wilderness. Then had to tow the truck/camper off the mountain to the nearest Ford dealer in Henderson, NC. Removed the camper in their parking lot and spent the night there until they could fix it the next day. Dang manual trannies, you just can't depend on them.....give me a good reliable automatic any day. :)

You don't know what you are missing. What you don't see on this picture, the guy had to drive over very rocky road down to 1 foot of deep water to get there as he sits technically on center of river bed, just on shallower side.

I have no problem with loading (unloading is always easier, but not easy) and whenever situation calls, I just drop the camper.
2 years ago we went on long vacations along south states. AC had to be used everywhere, while electric was easy to find at campgrounds, so each stop for more than 2 days I drop the camper, so we could leave dogs in it with AC on and go whenever we wanted.
This year we went to Alaska. No need for AC, electric hard to find, so camper was drop only at Anchorage and we could leave the dogs in locked truck/camper without worry about too much heat.
The seal between rear truck and front camper windows did work great for temperature exchange and for dogs to have easy pass.
They prefer to sit in truck cabin, but whenever water bowl on truck floor got spilled, they had more water in the camper.

We used to occasionally. If we could we would rather take the bicycles if the distance isn't too far.

As far as claiming a spot usually a couple chairs and a tablecloth is all you need or if it's a pay campground paying the fee and posting the ticket.

We tow a jeep now and that has been better especially getting around town where parking may not be as available for a CC dually or heading off road.

The same question might be asked for Class B or Class C without a toad.
