I just went down a bit of a hill. I started out at the top at 60 mph in high gear. No trailer in tow. With the EB turned on I manually pulled the gear select lever to low gear and watched the turbo boost pressure guage. Turbo boost went to about 18 psi with the engine rpm at about 3000 rpm. I believe the Ram exhaust brake works the same. It doesn't make sense to me that no boost would be generated during engine braking. So my guess is that the boost/engine brake guage on the Ram is designed to display either one or the other but never both.
