I sort of went both directions. I upsized slightly, but simplified at the same time. Went from a 24' Skyline Koala 21CS to a 27' Jayco Jay Flight 23RB.
The Koala didn't have a dinette, just a sofa on a small slide. We just wanted a little more living space that included a dinette. We got that with the Jayco. It has the dinette we wanted, and the bathroom stayed the same size. The Jayco is also 1/2' wider (8 ft) than the Koala was (7.5 ft).
I simplified because the new trailer doesn't have a slide.
This new trailer has all the space we need. We've never needed a trailer the size of a large apartment, since our roots in RVing are in Class B's.
You new trailer is still palatial compared to what we now have. However, I will say, our friends who have 5th wheels, are able to hitch faster than I can.
