I want to offer a little bit of follow up information. After my last DPF regen finished I started measuring km till the DPF would reach full again. After driving just over 800 km the DPF was at 40% full and the truck went into an auto regen. So it appears as though the DPF will regenerate after a preprogrammed min mileage .... 500 miles or when it reaches 100% full. My guess is that had I stopped driving during the cleaning process to interrupt the regen it wouldn't have completed its clean the next time I started driving.
