Seems a lot of the oil field service vehicles up western North Dakota ways are running either the Dura Tracs or the Cooper St Maxx tires.
They need the traction for winter use, and seems both stand up well to the gravel and scoria roads found out in the area.
Mind you, I've liked the Cooper ST Maxx for a while now cause of the three ply sidewall for TC purposes, but I've never owned them to test out my theory.
I've had good luck with the Michelin LTX M/S and M/S2 on my dually vehicles. But, since getting my TC just last year, I've not had them on either dually the TC was used on.
I did run about six months only on my Ford dually with the Cooper AT3's and the TC on board, they wore extremely well. I was trying to get the ST Maxx's at the time, but no one had them in stock in eastern Washington state.
Had General Grabber HTS's on the Ford, and one could almost watch them wear away as carrying the TC really seemed to eat them up fast, therefore the hunt for new tires while in Washington state.
I've got the General Ameritrac TR's from the factory on the Ram now. Wearing quite well with the TC on almost full time, but only 10,000 some odd miles on them.
I've inflated to 80 PSI on all tires with the TC on board.
