Both dry weight and GVWR (and cargo carrying capacity) are good info for comparing different rigs. But it is so dependent on the individual owner that ultimately neither number means a lot. Where one person may load their rig with 500 lbs of stuff, the next person may load their same rig with 1,500 lbs of stuff. And probably few people load their rigs with the 2,500 to 3,000 lbs CCC to reach the GVWR.
