My TV is also a daily driver... The cost and upkeep are not nearly as bad as some believe.
Having too little TV can be VERY expensive! I know this from experience.
It is all about priorities. The more serious one is about having a great TV/TT matchup, the more likely one will make the choice to step up.
Absolute hogwash.
I have not one but TWO F250s for "daily drivers" plus a third F250 as a well used "beater".
My daily commute is 100 mile round trip and DWs is 10 miles round trip.
I am getting 15 MPG on my 100 mile commute, DW gets 14.5 MPG for her daily commute.
Even the fabled "Eco boost" wouldn't save me much at all in fuel costs if you take into the consideration the over all purchase cost including interest, taxes, title fees between a F250 and F150 with Eco boost..
My F250s cost about $45K and to buy a F150 with Eco Boost PLUS the max payload package I would be in it for just about $60K..
That would be a difference of at least $15K in purchase cost above my F250..
That Eco boost would NEVER save me enough in fuel to make up for the additional purchase cost.. That Eco boost would have to get at least triple the gas mileage of what I get and it still would not break even..
As far as "inconveniences" of owning a 3/4 ton.. I have not found any, it parks in normal parking spaces, I can get it into my garage so no problem there..
Perhaps the only "inconvenience" that I could see is having 3415 lbs of payload on my truck compared to a F150 Eco with max payload package payload of a measly 1,900-2,000 lbs..
Additionally for my TT with my F250 I don't need or use WD, hook my trailer up to a F150 with no WD and you would be staring into the sky..
As far as stiff ride, the F250 is a firmer ride but not a buck board ride.. The better springs means I don't need to add extra after market "fixes" like air bags or better springs.. Your "Caddy" ride and feel COSTS you something in the handling department..
Yeah, I guess you could call the better load handling of my F250 as an "inconvenience" if you like, but I will be smiling a big wide grin on my face as you spend money on aftermarket fixes..
I love being able to buy a bit better suited vehicle for the job right off the dealer lot and not have to add a bunch of modifications..
You are more than welcome to justify your poor choice of vehicle/trailer combo if you like..
Keep drinking the "inconvenience" koolaid while I happily pass right by you..
