Having too little TV can be VERY expensive! I know this from experience.
It is all about priorities. The more serious one is about having a great TV/TT matchup, the more likely one will make the choice to step up.
IMO just the opposite if you take into account the added cost of "FIXES" like new tires, suspension upgrades like air bags to gain the "normal" capabilities of say a 3/4T. Also, trying to get the more capable 1/2T like the max tow/max GVWR in the Ecoboost normally requires a special order and not getting the great discounts for dealer inventory found in the 3/4 and 1T units.
