Hey guys, for those of you who run duallys on your truck how do you deal with the hassle of adding/checking the air in your rear tires? I’m considering some valve stem extensions or some all new metal valve stems that are long enough to air up easily.Thoughts?

Borg valve stems. You have to take the tires off and replace your existing stems.

Just get the correct air pressure gauge and it's no big deal. Adding air is the same thing. I've had three different sets of extensions, and all three leaked. One set leaked immediately, one leaked after a couple months, and one set lasted nearly three years, but also rubbed on the sidewall of the tire and darned near wore through the sidewall. Now I just use a proper tire pressure gauge.

The biggest problem that I've had is Les Schwab techs being smart enough to offset rear wheels when having them rotated and in a couple of instances, removing the valve cap on the inner tire.

Double ended airchuck and pressure gauge. ZERO ISSUES. BTW LesSchwab and Smart Techs don’t belong in the same sentence.

Correct head, and pressure gauge as mentioned. No issues in 30 years of owning a DW rig of some sort!Marty

Upstate NY and have no idea what a Les Schwab is. Neither do I care, yes I run caps on my valve stems.

I too have the angled double ended tire gauge but man it’s a pain the butt.

I can just reach my fingers in to reach the outer tire valve cap. For the inner I use a piece of plastic tubing that fits snugly over the cap. I can slide it over the valve cap and take it off, then remove it when the cap is back on. Works very well.

OE inner valve stems work great on my RAM with no cap to remove.

I went to a local auto parts store and purchased the all in one chuck. The chuck fits both ways as needed and after adding air it gives you a instant air reading. No issues and much cheaper and reliable than extensions.
