dumping at home

I dumped at home for 10 years when we owned a Class C. That way, DW could use the facilities while driving. Now that we have a TT, it is far less frequent. I only dump at home now if we didn't have a full hookup site and there is a line at the dump station. However, we DO have a cleanout about 50' from the driveway. A Flojet handles that just fine.

I've been using the Sewer Solution at home to dump through a 3/4" garden hose into a clean out. Works great. I don't wait in line at dump stations anymore.

Just about anyone can do it if they have a clean out within 100 feet.

Dumping with the large 4" hose was not an option at my house.


2 downsides: It can be slower, and uses a lot of water.

I dump at home at the conclusion of a trip.Hate waiting in line to dump.Years ago I would dump on DW roses but after she passed away I just use the cleanout

If you have a septic system, you can dump into it, but don't use toxic odor control (e.g., ones containing formaldehyde) in your tanks.

I do. I ran an extension of the cleanout to the side of the driveway. a foot or so uphill of the trailer but I use a macerator and 1" hose to dump. Much more convienient that using dump stations.

Yeah really. I don't know of anyone around here that has an owner accessible sewer clean out, wherever it is it must be buried. I bought my house in a new single builder survey in '86 and none of the houses have them, which is why I tapped into the house main sewer stack and use a macerator.

Really SoundGuy? Current house was build in 93. it has one. My last house was built in 03. also has one. Family homes all have them too? Guess we are just lucky

You can also dump at most Pilot and Flying J truck stops for a $10 fee. Never did it, just looked into it for traveling. The website Sanidump has dump locations and gets updated by users.

I tapped into my neighbor's clean out for my dump.

I have a cleanout plug in the concrete slab of my garage right to the side of the roll up door by the driveway. I just can’t seem to crack it loose. Must have been over tightened by Hercules. Thankfully in 23 years in this house I have never once had a need to open the cleanout.
Watch, now I’m gonna need to open it!
