Seen freind at work have not seen in a while. Bought a chevy dully few yrs back. Said had to put new or rebuilt allison 4100$ and now has head problem 3100$ i guess one side. Vehicle has 125,000 miles...

you meant #53 block... and it was 1999 to 2001 MYs, that had issues and out of those, only some had issues, not all trucks with the cummins fell victim to the 53 block.
Never said they did but it's a distinct probability, especially if it's worked hard.
The OP also has to worry about the Killer Dowel Pin and the injector pump puking if a lift pump fails.
My point is it's not wise to bash other brands when any brand can have failures.
