E-350 as a tow vehicle?

We have a 2010 Ford E-350 (with the 5.4 L) as a tow vehicle. I've looked at the towing capacity and such online, but wanted to see who uses it as their tow vehicle, and also what is the weight of the travel trailer you pull with it. Just doing some research and wanting some firsthand feedback before we make a purchase. Thanks!

  • Bing, I would use a van to tow again , I did it in the 80's towing 6500#. I liked the secure storage and I also used it to solo camp when fishing.
It will work fine if you are 'dreaming' of a white Christmas but if you do encounter one , you will have to be careful towing with RWD . :)

I have a Chevy 3500 Van (equivalent to the E-350); tows GREAT; Our TT is 6500lbs, I can cruise at 65mph easily with the 6.0L engine and get just on 10mpg if I don't have a lead foot.

(BTW - this is the 4th van I've had for towing and prefer them over a pick-up asyou can put all your toys inside and locke up out of the weather

WOW! X2! I've had a van (E350 1974-1987, E350 1987-2001, Chevy Express 2001-present) Each pulled its own TT but stayed in the 6500lb/27ft range. I've never had a problem as they are work horses. Slow, steady, and dependable. Latest TT in signature is much higher and a little wider than previous TT and I lost a couple of MPGs due to wind resistance. Have FUN!
