Why do people think that they need to run what the tire says on the sidewall for inflation????
Use the inglation/load charts that is what they are for.
I had a friend go with the Michelin E tires on his 1/2 ton GM, he had 80,000 miles on them when he traded in his truck with 1/3 tread left.
He was a happy camper with the results. He loved the more stable ride.
The stock tires on the truck only made it about 50K.
Because most folks have no clue on how to manage this and mainly why
so many think LT's will ride like a tire made of solid rock. Why the
government has mandated TPS and that was based on the Firestone/Ford
Explorer disaster.
I see underinflated tires all the time on cars to trucks. The general
public is clueless on that matter
My daughter's B2500 Mazda (Ford Ranger) came with 27" dia 'P' class
tires. Switched them for Michelin LTX-MS 30/9.5R15LT load range C
and she just bought the same after getting +120,000 miles out of the
set I bought
The 'LT' at the end of the size designation says 'LT' class tire, but
floatation type, which is softer and made to air down for off roading.
She does NOT off road and got them for the LT rating and the narrow
section width vs over all dia.
