Eagle has finally landed!

Dealer called this afternoon that my new 2015 Jayco Eagle 338RETS arrived from the factory! Going tomorrow for PDI and will take official delivery Thursday if all goes well tomorrow. Then the fun begins. New Hensley, slide toppers, washer/dryer install, dishes, towels, tools, hoses, etc. 3 weeks till it's maiden voyage of 1200 miles!

Must say that Tampa RV has been really good......so far. Service will be the the key for me!

Anyone have any advice for the PDI?

  • Good luck, the 338RETS is a sweet trailer! We LOVE ours!
We just got back from our first pull of any real distance with ours, 800+ miles, mostly through VA, MD, WV and PA mountains. Excursion, Hensley and Eagle all played very well together.
  • Tips on the PDI -- make sure the tech who completed the PDI is the one who does the walk thru. Tip 1 - take a lighter with you and light the pilot light and start the oven burners and let them burn for a good 5 minutes. Kill the pilot and repeat the process. Our 2nd TT had a loose gas line fitting behind the oven and the tech missed it on his 2 second lighting of the oven. Our oven just about blew out into the coach on our first trip. Tip 2 - Jayco has the typical stabilizer jack crank and another weird looking crank handle. Our PDI tech had no clue. Found out it fits the power jack on the A frame. Have the tech take off the hot water bypass cover (under the sink) and show you how to use the factory pump to winterize the unit if you're not familiar ( I was clueless). Last tip -- the combo radio/cd/dvd player installed in my Jayco has an AUX setting and an AV jack but when I try to use my IPhone to play my music I get an "Unsupported" error on my phone. Ask the tech why the heck Jayco uses components not compatible with the largest provider of digitalized music. Other than that go have a great time.
  • Since it's brand new, in case you don't already know: Open the windows, and let that baby air out as much as you can before you try to sleep in it. Ask me how I know this. :)

    Congratulations!
  • We looked at a 338 RETS at the Indianapolis Show. It's a honey. Love the floor plan. It was just a tad longer and heavier than we were looking for. Congratulations!
  • Best of Luck! I recorded the PDI while the Rep showed my Husband about the Trailer. Its great now we can go back and double check if we forgot something. Our first trip is next weekend. Happy Travels.....
  • Make sure you stop and check the lug nuts every 100 miles or so for the first 200 - 300 miles. They tend to loosen up when new.

    Enjoy your trip.
  • Boy you went all out. Congrats on the new TT. Might want to record the PDI. They throw a lot of information at you quickly. Happy camping.
