Eastern Sierra Fall Colors

I'm wrapping up my 13th year of ramblin' in my TC for about 6 months. After returning from my usual trip to Montana, I recently spent 2 weeks in my favorite part of California - The Eastern Sierra. Below are a few photos of fall color at around 9K feet. Not much when I was there at 7K ft. Color not at peak yet. More E Sierra pics in my blog (see signature).

  • Great photos, Ralph! And by the way, I am pretty sure that the photo posted by Oregun was taken right near Lake Sabrina -- that is North Lake, I think.
  • jefe: Sure hope your shoulder gets back to 100% on schedule. Also hope I never get that much snow on my camper. :)

Yep, the Eastern Sierra is THE spot in California! :)
  • Ralph, jefe here.
We live on the west slope, Northern Sierra Nevada @ 4020 feet elevation so the leaves are just starting to turn here. Have had to stoke up the fire box a couple times already with the change of season. I'm envious of your trip as 6 weeks ago I had total reverse shoulder surgery and am just getting to drive again without the incapacitator. It's going well, but will be another 11 months before the 100% line.
The Eastern Sierra has always been my 'go-to' place to rid myself of the city toxins. Wait! I don't live in the city anymore. No excuse to not follow the color.
We can only hope for some snow this year: 2010:

  • Crusin thru there in a couple days. Dropped into Big Bear city for the first time and caught Space X rocket at dark. Fall colors are on the schedule however I felt like Mulder seeing Elon's rocket over So Cal.
