We have a note book where we break the pages down to days and then there three meals including snacks during the day for our kids.
We prepare as much as we can before we leave.
At our home we have the food saver machine. Huge help. We do what we call a bjs run every eight months and stock up on food.
We make our own steaks, burgers, chicken nuggets, pork chops, and roasts, sliced cheese, and random lunch meats. We then store it in our stand up freezer in the basement and it lasts forever. We have had steaks a year or more after being sealed and they taste great. Specially when seasoned before being sealed.
This makes it easy for us to pack meals. As there is no extra bulky packaging to take up room in the freezer or fridge.
Doing it this way helps us know what the next meal is and have it out and ready to go. Yeah we do change it up along the way and sometimes we do go out to eat because there are days we just don't feel like cooking.
We like to do crock pot meals and use the bags so it's one less thing to clean up.
We also share the cooking responsibilitys between us so it's not always one persons dreaded chore.
We do pack random items to incase we want to change it up.
Has worked for us since we started.
