Seems to me that most manufacturer defects generally happen very early upon delivery. And I'll bet Ford does not manufacture that battery. And while they may spec the battery, I doubt they spec it so that 1 in 1000 batteries fail, or that would be acceptable.

However, just in case something does fail in the initial usage period, the manufacturer provides a warranty to cover repairs. Pretty much all they can do, Don't you think?
