The battery on my 2001 Ford Taurus which went into service in November of 2000 was replaced in November of 2011 because it was getting colder outside and I decided that it was better to be safe than sorry. After all,... after 11 years of flawless service I thought maybe I should let it retire with dignity rather than have it die by itself in a cold dark garage!!
