The more complicated the vehicle the more likely that something will malfunction. With remote starting, electric windows, power seats, electric door locks, electric seat heaters, OEM security system, ABS sensors, air bag sensors, and all the other electronics in today's trucks it is more of a wonder that they are at all reliable.
My first truck had none of these features and did not even have a heater or a radio much less an AC. Outside of the engine compartment there was very little to malfunction.
It is said with electronics that they most often fail during the first hour of use or the last hour of use. With a new vehicle I would expect the same applies to all of its components, especially the electrical ones.
