I think that's true for buyers of any new vehicle. Most owners trade after a year or three no matter what their drivetrain may be good for.
If our ecoboost is diluting the oil you couldn't prove it by me. It looks like any other used oil as it's running into the drain pan when I change it at the recommended intervals. I'm not going to spend the cost of an oil change to have it checked either.
