Listen pal, I grew up in an Irish neighborhood in Chicago and lived in Chicago for 64 years. I had cousins and uncles who were coppers, neighbors who were coppers and knew them in social situations all my life. And I never knew a copper who didn't refer to himself as a copper. But that was the big city.
On the other hand I never heard a cop call himself a LEO, though a knew a couple of ironworkers named Leo. And then there was Leo Gorcey...
