I grew up in NY and never heard anybody on the job refer to themselves as "coppers"..."on the job" was how it was referred to. Folks who refer to police as coppers are usually in the habit of avoiding the police, just like those who refer to police as the fuzz, the heat, pigs, po-po, etc. IB, I'm sure you've been called worse after a career on the force so surprised to see you a little thin-skinned on this one...maybe folks are just more polite in CA?
Back on topic, agree that the extensive idling is not the best for a turbo...especially up north where the police need to idle vehicles to keep the heat on 11 months of the year.
