OP,
You mentioned the vehicles had 60-75k on them and they were running the carbon clean at twice the interval of the NA rigs. At what interval were they performing the carbon clean?
My EcoBoost has been trouble-free and I hope remains so for a long time, but I want to maintain it well. Never had any problems with the CAC / condensation (it gets wet frequently in Oregon). Mine is a late July 2012 build and I believe employed Ford's third 'fix' to the CAC. I do not want to make any modifications while in warranty and need to do more research, but may add a catch can down the road to help keep the intake valves cleaner.
I sort of miss the seeing the Crown Vics around. My son is an aircraft mechanic and bought a used state trooper car (P71). He bought it with 110k miles and is approaching 200k. Other than replacing the timing chains at 150k the 4.6L has not had any issues at all.
