electric cost

I have heard of long term sites metering power and charging for it, but I recently saw a CG with a note on their rates / reservations page stating that you must notify them if you will operate heat or A/C so they can charge an extra $5 / day for electric. They also said "We CLOSELY monitor this!" For short term stay, that made me think "wow!..I'll keep looking for a different place to camp....."
