GM's answer to the F150 Ford electric truck commercial.

If I were one of GM's advertising people I would do the same setup at the same place and hook up a Chevy Spark to the train and pull it! Now that would be something! Or maybe RAM can hook up 10 goats to the train and pull it!

To tell the truth I was WAY more impressed that the "Harbor Freight strap" could hold the "1.2 million Lbs!!!" Way to kill it Harbor Freight!

    Yea, I second that as well ! !! :B

Makes me want to go and grab one... a little stretch, then bingo........

  • Electric vehicles are here to stay. They are under rated as tow vehicles. Soon it will be possible to use one on most interstates. It will take awhile to build the infrastructure of charging stations. We have them here in our little valley. Battery tech will continue to improve. Elect vehicles can often now be 80% charged in 30 minutes.

Lithium mining is becoming big business in Nevada.
  • I appreciated my additional cargo box space over the last 2 weeks. Hauling all the necessary stuff for the county fair. It did not fit in my older bed.

agreed that it is NOT pointless... to a degree . .

The fact that they are pulling 1 million pounds with an electric truck is not all that surprising. Lets see what the stopping distance is... Let's see the cargo capacity....

In other words, let's see the REAL STUFF.... Not the stupid commercial stuff to try and 1 up the other guys.....

Its like the GM commercial that touts the most cargo box space.......

I would like to have that extra space available in my Ford. But the commercial I saw yesterday touting the extra space showed them filling the truck with gravel and they could only fill the truck half way anyhow. A rather stupid presentation in my opinion.

  • Not pointless. In spite of all the naysayers, electric is coming on a much larger scale.

A really pointless test (for both).

I suspect Ford did this in response to Elon's claim that the new Tesla pickup can "tow 300,000 pounds".
