Electric jack - unrealistic expectations or bad unit?

The John Deere battery that I'm replacing was made in 2008.
Not too bad, I guess.

I've had really good luck with the Wally World batteries too and most stores are open 24 hours around here....so it limits the stranded possibility to some extent.
$68 isn't too bad for a marine deep cycle in my book. They offer the Maxx for $99.
