Electric jack - unrealistic expectations or bad unit?

Put my new deep cycle battery in this afternoon.
Certainly had the amperage to raise the trailer.
Still a weird sound. This time on the down.

Here is the video.
The first part is DOWN. Note the weird 'rubbing' sound.

The noticeable sound change is UP.
