Electric Tongue Jack

The manual tongue jack on my Jayco 32BHDS broke so I am in the market for an electric one. If I figure the tongue weight is about 1200 lbs and the tow vehicle is a Ford Excursion, what size electric jack should I be looking for. What brand as well.

Thanks.

  • Have a Husky Brute 4500# and absolutely love it. Have had it for 2 years now and never fails. Lifts strong. Did have to turn it sideways to install because it hit my propane cover. Very easy though. Just had to re-drill out one hole.
  • I have the Husky Brute 3000# model and for my needs it works awesome. You have way more tounge weight than I do, so I'd recommend the Husky 4500# model. I bought mine at Costco online and they have a great return policy if anything should go wrong. Here's a link to a video review that I did of mine, showing a unique (and I like to think a little better) way of installation as far as the electric part goes.

  • 3500 because are also lifting the rear of your tow vehicle. And I like Barker because of the great customer service and I believe they are still made in the USA.
  • If you search this Forum I think the consensus is a 3500# rated jack and there will be several recommended.
