electric valve elimination
Pictures from removing my grey water electric valve -- 2007 Outfitter Apex 8. The valve failed closed near the end of a recent trip. This is the only device that has failed that was not obviously due to rough roads or operator error.
Kick plate is removed by sliding it sideways, and turning it slightly.
The valve and section of pipe I cut out.
Near piece was cut.
Near piece pulls out of tank connection after loosening a band clamp.
Replacement piece of 3 inch ABS with flex clamp - not tightened yet.
New pipe silicon caulked into tank connector, and band clamp not tightened yet.
Bob Ward advised that pipe glue will not work on tank connector, so do it this way.
My plan is to only use the existing manual valve and sealing cap at the outlet end of the pipe. I hope it works --
