Doesn't have to be....but you didn't really give a lot of details on what you were planning to install in the rig, so posters here wanted to list all the possibilities so you didn't overlook anything. It's a real pain to retrofit wiring in an RV because the wood paneling doesn't patch as easy as sheetrock in a house, and the walls are so thin it's hard to use a fishtape through the insulation. Nothing like that first camping trip to show you where you wished you would have put lights and outlets....
