Electrical Plug Inside the pickup box
When towing a 5th wheel is it advisable to install the electrical plug inside the box? I have a factory tailgate. The hitch installer said he has not installed a plug inside the box in the last 5 year...

So plugged the cord into rear bumper electric receiver and put the remaining cord excess into the bed of the truck. It bounced out or threaded out of the bed of the truck onto the road and by the time I figured out there was a problem- the outer insulation and 4 of the 7 wires were bare down to the wire including the electric brake wires. Got to a campground in Ft. St. John--parked it--and went to work splicing the wires back together. Then got a roll of Duck Tape and taped it all to the bed of the truck. Didn't move until we got back home in So. Calif.
Always carry Duck Tape !!!
Same thing happened to me bringing home my first fifth wheel.
Love that inside plug.
