If you don't camp in cold weather you do not need a heated and enclosed underbelly in my opinion. None of mine have ever had it. But, if it gets much below freezing I am at home in the house where it is warm.
But, there are times when I go out when it is freezing just a little for a short time and I have never had problems.
Also, I do occasionally go out in the winter but, when I do I just leave the camper winterized, use jugs of water, and a porta-potti.
It depends on what type of camping you want to do and how often you are going to use it in the winter.
