Dak, don't despair. Trust me on this one: if carefully handled, a well-equipped trailer can get pretty far back in the boonies. Not as far as a four wheel TC, but your life as an adventurer is not over! You don't have to stay in luxury RV parks, or even campgrounds, all the time.
Plus with the increased storage capacities of a trailer (all three tanks and the cargo space), you can park the trailer way out in the middle of nowhere for a whole week at a time, and then use it as a basecamp. And on your day trips with the unencumbered truck, you can get to some really remote trailheads, places that might have been out of reach with a TC (due to low branches and other issues). So there are compensations.
