engine oil level

I have an '03 Ford with the 6.0 diesel. At oil change time the level is higher than it should be. The dipstick is not milky like there is water or coolant getting in. Can this be fuel getting in somehow?

It sure can... Fuel can enter into the oil by either a faulty injector O-ring, a cracked injector cup, or to a much lesser degree a bad injector.

First thing I would do is take an oil sample and send it to Blackstone laboratories to have it analyzed to verify your engine does have fuel dilution problems.

    Good luck...
  • Usually the level would be at the bottom range of the dipstick, now it is just above the black plastic piece of the dipstick. How much is that, a quart? thanks guys.

    Leaking injector(s)? :h
  • Are we taking a quart or a pint or or some lesser amount.
