Entry Door Leak

Question

We just recently purchased a 2000 Cherokee travel trailer. We noticed a soft spot in the floor in front of the entry door and cut out the rotted section and replaced the wood. Further, we left the insulation out and the hole open while we repaired the door to ensure that leak was fixed before closing the hole back up. We have replaced the old weather stripping the door and caulked around the frame of the door but after a rain, water still puddles in the hole. Not a lot but enough. We have done a water text on the door alone and know it's coming from the door but can't figure out where. Has anyone else had this problem?

Might be the window in the door that is leaking...Water might be getting inside the door, running down between the two panels and then out at the bottom and into you trailer.

I had a trailer door leak, that came in from where the metal strip on door bottom met the fiberglass door panel. It entered from outside edging, flowed out inside door bottom into camper.

I sealed all along metal edging on bottom outside, and up the side a little, problem solved.

As mentioned most door windows leak, if water hits them direct.

I ended up pulling off the trim that covers the screws that hold the door from snug to the trailer and they were all loose. The screws along the bottom were rusted away so replaced them and that seems to have solved the problem

I had a door leak in my old trailer and I couldn't find the source of it to save my life. The inside of my trailer would be wet when we had a big downpour, which in FL is all too frequent, and then I'd go check on it. There were times I'd go and it was still dry, which left me scratching my head, and then the next time it would be wet. Using a wet vac to suck the water out of the carpet and then clean the carpet and make sure it dried so no mold got into it, got old very fast. Then one day.......the leak stopped. I'd still go check every time it rained, but it was always dry. A few months later, I found the trailer was wet again, but this time it was on the opposite side of the trailer. I found a different leak behind the couch on the slide that had ruined a section of the wall. That's when I decided enough was enough and I traded it in for the trailer we have now.

Glad to hear your issue was an easy fix. Leaks in an RV are the worst.
