Entry level vs. mid level. Vs high end

How would you define travel trailers amongst these three categories? II thought it might be a good topic for discussion. What features do you think constitute the differences. I am particularly thinking about build construction, and build quality and components. Every manufacturer is going to occasionally put out a lemon. I hear such difference in opinions based on personal experiences, but aside from isolated events, what separates them.

I am hoping this discussion might help me narrow down some choices based on good value for the dollar rather than paying for a bunch of not-so needed electronic gadgets. As this applies to me, I know what I want in a trailer (26-27 ft bunk house with a dinette and couch slide and a separate master bed divided by an entertainment console. Everybody seems to have one such floorplan....Salem, Wilderness, Jayco, etc.) They are all nice and components are similar, but cost can vary considerably). Is a 16k model going fall apart before a 26k model with regular maintenance?
  • Only a very few high end trailers. Those tend to be custom built such as New Horizon, Continental, Sacecraft. They tend to be very heavy and well built. Entry and Mid level MFG tend to compete on price point with each other.
  • As they all share the same components and general construction techniques, you won't find much difference from one to another. The more expensive models may have fiberglass sides as opposed to metal and maybe a few more amenities as well as nicer fabrics and trim. But when you start digging deeper there isn't a lot of difference. Buy the one you like best at the best price. JMHO
