EquaFlex Bushings

My 2010 trailer came with the EquaFlex suspension with greaseable wetbolts and bronze bushings in the units. I ordered new EquaFlex components for both sides of the trailer today and they come with a composite or perhaps nylon bushings. Perhaps they are "NeverFail" bushings from Lippert..not sure.

Should I remove the old bronze bushings and wet bolts from my old units and reinstall them in the new units, or use the supplied composite/nylon bushings. If so, should I use the wet bolts or buy traditional spring/shackle bolts to use with the new composite/nylon looking bushings?

    The bronze bushings I ordered would not fit the holes in the new Equaflex units I received. They were too large.

    So I ended up using the Neverfail bushings supplied with the units. Hope they hold up as well as the bronze bushings.

    We probably have 40k on our trailer, which we purchased new. The OE Equaflex units really have served us well. But they have taken a real beating absorbing potholes and I-40 rough roads over the years.

    I have decided to replace the never-fail bushings with new bronze bushings and use my old wetbolts. And perhaps my wife and I can get a few more wonderful years out of it.

    Ah, OK. Was just wondering, I thought you were just thinking they needed to be replaced. I have heard of them wearing out.

    IIRC the NeverFail bushings are a dark plastic, the usual nylons are white.

    If the bronze bushings and wet bolts are not worn, I would reuse them and save the new bushings. And check the shackles too.

    My guess is that he has a clue about how this stuff is made and wants to spend his vacation time in the RV rather than under it.

    Trucks don't use greaseable bushings in their leaf springs. I think the never-lube bushings are probably the way to go.

    My Equa-Flex is the model that has one bolt at the bottom with an arm each way. It had brass bushings that were bone dry. A wet bolt has a hole that would be where the split is and all the grease would just come out between the two halves. I made a wet bolt with two holes that align with the bushings.
