EternaBond ROOFSEAL tape?

Anyone have experience with EternaBond ROOFSEAL tape? Good, Bad, Ugly?

If so, does it truly seal? And last?

I'm considering using it to seal the aluminum-to-rubber roof junction on the sides of my TC roof....which flexes slightly (and opens up) when the roof is clamped down.

I brushed THIS STUFF to vertical areas just fine. Just like any sealer.
  • My wife rubbed a tree branch against the side of our TC roof tearing the membrane for almost 4 feet along the edge. I cleaned the roof area with a rag and denatured alcohol until spotless and then applied eternabond tape over the edge which covered two inches onto the roof and two inches down the side. I then used non-self leveling dicor all the way around the perimeter of the tape overlapping onto both the roof and filon sides. That was over 3 years ago. I have had no leaks, pealing of edges or any other issues since the repair.
  • Works great, seals perfectly. Looks sort of bad when it gets dirty. It's the only reason my roof is still intact and water proof. As with many jobs, preparation is essential -- but not hard (if it's a small area).
(having second thoughts about a new $4K composite roof?)
  • Great product. The first thing I do with a new trailer is Eternabond the roof seams. Care must be taking to properly clean the area before applying. Be sure to use lots of pressure with a hard roller during application as well.

If I stalked incorrectly it is very difficult to remove.

When the tape is good invention for band-aid, it is only as good as preparation job and lot of not only amateurs, but also professionals lack in this part.
PO of my Fleetwood used it a lot to patch branch-inflicted holes and the main issue is that without proper preparation the tape leaked, but also hid the leaks till frame started to collapse.
About a year ago Home Depot started to sell new-technology white roof sealer and I had it applied last spring on my house flat roof. Impressed with the results, I plan to use it on my camper rubber roof as well. Price is about $50/gallon, but that can save you lot of money and aggravation on long run.
The brush-on or rolled sealer not only is very good, but making even surface - you will spot any crack right away.
