- marquetteExplorerProtecto wrap says on the label it is not designed for UV rays and needs to be covered. I can say scrap pieces I have stuck to boards while trimming have laid outside for a couple of years before going to the burn pile and they are still stuck on and flexible. But what it is good for is vibration protection and stopping rattles. A couple layers inside a battery box will stop harmonic vibration or between dash panels to stop rattles. Between metal and treated wood to prevent oxidation. It would work really well as a "on the road" temporary fix if you accidentally punched a hole in the roof.
- westendExplorerJohn B,
That is the same Protecto Wrap I've used. It is a rubber membrane with self stick on one side and a foil/plastic on the other. Yes, I have always used it in a location that is covered by another material. It is good for what it does but it's hard to beat the Eternabond tapes for RV roofs. - darsbenExplorer IICHEAPER IS NOT BETTER.
There are places to cheap out your roof IS NOT ONE.
If you said product was better you would get my attention but cheaper does not interest me.
Eternabond works!

They make a lot of products, but I'm not seeing them for roofs

My builder just used one of them products over my sill plate. I looked at it last week.
I 100% agree, if this is what you mean, I would not use on the camper roof. Do not know if it can handle the high sun rays as it is usually covered by something else and then there is the sticking problem. I have E Bonded my entire camper roof seams, and that Proctowrap I have, is different.
Hope this helps
John
What exact type where you referring too? - westendExplorerThe Protecto-wrap I've used is for sealing window flanges to exterior building surfaces. It is very sticky when first applied. It is not, however, a substitute for Eternabond tapes. The Eternabond products have a much greater adhesive bond and are a better engineered product. I've used both on my trailer, the protecto-wrap for sealing the siding to the window jamb and the Eternabond to seal the roof.
